SHRIMP LIFE ships all items in the shop ACROSS CANADA, and all dry goods & moss (no other plants) to USA
WHEN DO YOU SHIP AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO ARRIVE?
During times of extreme weather like winter and summer, sometimes packages are delayed in order to ensure safe arrival
I normally ship orders containing LIVESTOCK & PLANTS on Mondays and Tuesdays, but occasionally later in the week for DRY GOODS
If your ordering within Canada, Parcels containing shrimp or plants take 1-3 days to arrive. Orders containing only dry goods can take 1-7 days depending on package size and your location
If your ordering from USA, I ship 1x a week. Once shipped, it may take 5-7 days for orders containing moss, and 5-10 days for orders containing only dry goods
WHERE DO YOU GET THE SHRIMP AND PLANTS YOU SELL
I BREED ALL SHRIMP, SNAILS AND LIVESTOCK MYSELF. They are all homebred, young healthy & disease free!
I GROW ALL MOSSES AND PROPAGATE THEM ALL MYSELF! These are all propogated and grown by SHRIMP LIFE
TROPICA PLANTS are from the Tropica Nursery
DO YOU GUARANTEE LIVE ARRIVAL?
YES! But I ask that you PLEASE READ ALL BELOW this to understand my DOA POLICY... (DOA means "Dead on Arrival")
I will not reimburse anyone who does not follow this policy (this policy is designed to protect 1. THE SHRIMP from DYING 2. YOU THE BUYER from LOSING $ 3. ME THE BREEDER from REFUNDING
I've been shipping livestock and plants since 2008, shipped 1000's of boxes and maintained a stellar reputation for shipping healthy stock that arrives in perfect shape. Since my shrimp are homebred and young, they have a very easy time travelling via mail. I check weather in both my and your location and plan my shipping around weather first. I then prepare a box with styrofoam insulation, this ensures that the temperature does not swing rapidly while in transit. A heatpack is used when I feel its necessary. Remember, the box really isn't exposed to the outdoor elements until the day of delivery (majority of the time) When the box arrives, you must be there to receive it. I do not offer any guarantee on boxes that sit outside (contact made by buyer after 30 min) or are delivered to a PO box. ANY DOA CLAIM would have to be made within 30 minutes of delivery. To do this, you would take clear photos of dead shrimp IN THE BAG, and clear photos out of the bag in a container, beside my shipping label. You would then email those pictures within 30 min of delivery to -
This tight timeline is important as alot can go wrong if a box sits outside in heat, or in freezing temps for 30 min. This is when DOA occurs most. So its the buyers responsibilty to adhere to this policy in order to be eligible for a replacement. If you try to make a claim a few hours later, I am to presume you accepted the box a few hours late, and probably left them outside (people do this) and I will not reimburse anyone who does not follow this policy! This policy is designed to protect 1. THE SHRIMP from DYING 2. YOU THE BUYER from LOSING $ 3. ME THE BREEDER from REFUNDING
In the rare case that the Mail carrier delays delivery (instead of taking 2 days, they take a week which caused shrimp death) I still cover you, even if its not my fault or yours that the carrier has caused such a delay where death results
Extra Shrimp count towards DOA. Ex. If you order 10 shrimp, and I send 12, and 2 die, you still have 10 shrimp. If you order 10 shrimp, I send 2 extra and 4 die, you are left with 8 shrimp. I would owe you a refund or replacement for 2 shrimp
HEATPACKS IN WINTER A heatpack is not designed to keep your box ambient sitting in winter weather outdoors. Its meant to keep your box ambient while in transit (where the box is not really exposed to any outdoor elements) If your box sits outside in the cold ... the cold quickly overtakes the box and stops the heatpack from working. So please, if you are ordering Shrimp in winter, do not assume you can leave your box outdoors, the heatpack will quickly stop working and your box WILL FREEZE
FOR SUMMER WEATHER Insulation or cold pack also will not counteract the heat that will overtake a box sitting outside for even a short time
Its always important to receive your box directly from your mail carrier (first delivery attempt) and follow your tracking. Please also keep in mind, tracking sometimes updates suddenly or delivery date changes. Its important to be flexible about delivery because it can change. Its a good idea to sign up for delivery notifications on Canadapost.ca or USPS.com (depending on which method of shipping I used for your parcel)
DOA and problems are rare, but this policy is laid out so that its clear, and that all the bases are covered, thank you for your cooperation!
